Hi everyone:
Just a reminder that all good Chambers owners should be observing National Pie Day over the weekend (it's officially Monday, the 23rd.).
If you are in Chicago, stop by our house this Saturday, Jan. 21st. starting at 2:30pm and going til whenever. We've been hosting a Pie/Poetry Party for about 15 years. The Poetry stems from it being Robert Burn's birthday Jan. 25th. Pie and Poetry is a great mix.
If you are interested in attending, look up my profile and email me for address and directions. Otherwise, shine up your Chambers and set that thing a cookin'!

I'll still be in Texas, but with you in spirit!!
Eat a slice of pie for me!!
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Cooking on a Chambers will make a gourmet chef out of you!
Take care!!

Joe,
I do love poety and I love pie. To far away to attend the festivities, but I'll bake a pie. Here's a quote from one of my favorite poets - Dorothy Parker: "I don't care what is written about me so long as it isn't true."
Enjoy Pie Day

In this world there are makers and there are eaters.
I will eat a pie on this National Pie Day.

You are a generous host. I'm afraid the snow might thin out the party. I'm probably the closest and I'm certain I'll be a shut in tomorrow. Now where can I get me some pie....

I found the National Pie Day website and read & learned...Since this is the my first year of participation, in honor of the originators of Pie, I will make a Greek Spinach Pie for supper ! I'll forward the recipe on to Todd for our recipe collection.

Hi Joe, I hope your party went well. Unfortunately, I had a family commitment today... and last weekend, and next weekend too. We have 16 nieces and nephews on my hubby's side. I swear there's always a birthday or something going on. I really hoped I could make it, it would have been nice to meet your. I even had the pie I wanted to make picked out. Hopefully next year! Hey folks:
Thanks for all the good wishes, and commitments to honor pie. We counted close to forty pies, and over 100 people. Wonderful poetry (from a lament of a newly wheat intolerant pie fan to a poem honoring Coast Guardsmen ), a choral performance of Burn's ode to a rose, and fiddle and zamponia players. Great stuff. Only one pie fight this year!
Sincerely,
Joe
